Bethica Races
Every race has its own story or
legend of how it came into existence; who am I, and how did I come to be? Who
or what created me, and why am I here? These are age-old questions. Like most
stories and legends, these differ based on race, culture and religion.
There are three sub-classes of
races: Higher form; Lower form; and Sub-form; these classes are generally based
on intelligence and social or civilized status.
Higher Form are races that are generally intelligent with
goals to advance their culture through technology, or in some races case,
through magic.
Lower Form are races that are generally intelligent, but are
not really interested in advancing their culture; they prefer, instead, to maintain
their life style in the manner as it exist. Whether they advance or not,
doesn’t matter.
Sub-Form are races that are less intelligent than the above
forms, but are still more intelligent than the basic animal life of the planet.
They generally live a prehistoric life style. These people are hunters and
gatherers. They lived in caves or wooden made structures and used stones as
weapons and tools; although they may acquire higher tech-levels of weapons and
tools, they generally can’t produce such item themselves without help.
Higher Form Races
Volarians
Appearance:
All thou Volarians look human in every way,
basic they are not the humans of earth. All that are left of the so called human
race are the Titanians. Whether earth’s humans populated other worlds before
the destruction of their planet is still a mystery. As do humans,
Volarians come in all colors as sizes; Asian, Caucasian, Black, Middle Eastern,
and so on. Their span of life is
generally between 70 to 90 years of age. Their height is between 1.77 to 2.02
meters tall and they weigh about 69 to 105 kg.
Personality:
Volarians
are Daren and adventurous, always trying something new whether it is dangerous
or not. Always adventuring into the unknown.
Special Talents:
Add two (2) EXP levels to all beginning skills.
Also add a bonus of 20% to all EXP awards gained.
Qu’venars
Appearance:
Qu’venars are tall and slender with long pointed
ears. They have almond shaped slanted eyes. They appear very fragile look, but
there is a sinister look about their appearance. Skin is a bone white color.
Eyes have a faint bluish glow about them. Hair is a silky white or aging gray
color. Their span of life is generally between 200 to 600 years of age. Their
height is between 1.57 to 2.03 meters tall and they weigh about 49 to 73 kg.
Personality:
Qu’venars are a inquisitive, pleasant and diplomatic
race of beings.
Special
Talents:
There is a mystical nature about them which
gives them a special bonus when it comes to mystical abilities. They will start
with read, write, and speak magic. Also add a bonus of plus two (2) skill
levels to any magical skill they choose.
Syvarians
Appearance:
Syvarians are tall and slender with long pointed
ears. They have almond shaped slanted eyes. Their skin is a brownish tan color.
Their eyes are a deep ebony black color. Their hair is a long silky black color. Their span of life is
generally between 200 to 600 years of age. Their height is between 1.57 to 2.03
meters tall and they weigh about 63 to 85 kg.
Personality:
Syvarians are a proud race of beings, but very
arrogant and rude, but usually very charming to the ladies.
Special Talents:
Syvarians will have 20 meters of Night vision
range. The stalking skill at level five (5) and the following special
abilities; hearing and sight detection, also add a 10% bonus to all
projectile/range weapons.
Engamars
Appearance:
Engamars are short and stock humanoid beings.
The males will have very long and thick beards and long hair. The women can
have facial hair as well. Their skin color is a neutral gray color. Eyes are
brown or black. Hair is black or aging gray. Their span of life is generally
between 110 to 150 year of age. Their height is between .96 to 1.47 meters and
they weigh about 68 to 79 kg.
Personality:
Engamar are stubborn, rude and arrogant. They
love to drink and get drunk with a passion. Generally they only drink the
strongest of liquor; they also love to smoke a good cigar.
Special
Talents:
Engamars are superior and master craftsmen. Add
a bonus of 25% to all engineering skills. Because of their stubbornness, add
and addition 25% to all mind controlling saves. Thought Engamars my have a high
WILL attribute, there stubbornness to believe in such powers prevents them for
receiving psychic powers, nor do they dabble in the mystic arts.
Lower Form Races
Granbens
Appearance:
Granbens are short and slender. If you do not
look hard enough you may mistake them for a small child. Their skin color is a
light brown tan to a medium brown tan color. Their eyes are deep dark blue.
Their hair is long dark brown in color. Their span of life is generally between
70 to 90 years. Their height is between 1.09 to 1.60 meters tall and they weigh
about .99 to 1.50 kg.
Personality:
They are very mischievous and a fun loving race
of people. They love to play practical jokes.
Special
Talents:
They are expert lock pickers and expert at
picking pockets. Granben will start with pick locks and pockets at level five
(5). They will also start with stalking at level ten (10).
Kolarians
Appearance:
Kalorians are stocky humanoid feline like
beings. Their fur is soft and the color varies as they do with most felines.
Their eye also varies as they do with most felines. Their span of life is
generally between 60 to 70 years of age. Their height is about 1.40 to 1.91
meters tall and they weigh about 66 to 88 kg.
Personality:
Kalorians are brave, friendly, and honorable.
Special
Talents:
Kalorians will start with stalking, climbing,
and acrobatics at skill level five (5). Increase all leaping and jumping
abilities by two (2) times. They will have low-light vision at a range of 50
meters. Plus they have retractable claws on their fingers and toes, which does
four (4) points of TSD. They will
have hand to hand claw strike and damage at skill level five (5).
Salorians
Appearance:
Salorians are tall and slender humanoids. They very much so, resemble a
feline, right Down to the eyes, noise, mouth, and whiskers. Their fur is soft
and the color varies as they do with most felines. Their eyes will also vary as
they do with most felines. Their span of life is generally between 60 to 90
years of age. Their height is between 1.57 to 1.60 meters tall and they weigh
about 71 to 93 kg.
Personality:
Salorians are brave, friendly and a honorable
race of beings.
Special Talents:
Salorians will start with the following skills
at skill level five (5); Stalking, climbing, and acrobatics. Increase their
leap and jump by two (2) times their normal. They will have 50 meters of Night
vision range. Retractable claws in their fingers and toes. Their claws will do
four (4) points of TSD damage per strike. They will also have the hand to hand
claw striking and damage skill at level five (5).
Latorians
Appearance:
Latorians are an all female race of beings. Yes there are no
male Latorians. Their bodies are humanoid. They reproduce by enslaving men from
other races and forcing them to mate with them. Once they have confirmed that
they are pregnant, they execute the males. Unlike most female races, Latorian
psychically determine which gender they are going to have, which is female, for
fear of a horrible and eternal punishment. Their skin color tone will varies as
normal human beings, Latorians come in all colors as sizes; Asian, Caucasian,
Black, Middle Eastern, and so on. And the same for their hair color, but their
hair is usually very long. Their span of life is unknown; none has ever died of
old age. Their height is between 1.70 to 2.20 meters tall and they weight about
104 to 126 kg.
Personality:
They are proud, brave, and stern. Very
mistrusting of males in all races, and feels superior to them. Thou they may
kill a female of any race, when face with a choice of who to kill first male or
female, they will always kill the male first.
Special Talents:
Their span of life is unknown, so they will have
the immortality special ability. Latorians have special cells in their skin
that can since when harm is about to come to it. In the instant that it is
aware of this, the cells seems to
increase its durability in that area to proved a resist to whatever is trying
to harm it, So all Latorians will start with the tough skin special abilities.

Morganars
Appearance:
Morganars are Volarian in looks, but depending
on their powers they may have different features and or limbs. Their skin,
eyes, and hair will vary as do normal Volarians. Their span of life is
generally between 35 to 67 years of ages, but may vary depending on their
special abilities. Their height between is 1.52 to 2.03 meters tall and they
weigh about 63 to 85 kg.
Personality:
Morganars are secretive and not too trusting.
Reason being is because other beings are either trying to enslave them for
there abilities or are afraid of them because of their abilities. Either way,
they are quiet and generally stay to themselves.

Timbakni
Appearance:
Timbakni
are a huge humanoid wolf looking race. They have the head of a wolf, with broad
shoulders and chest. The rest pretty much looks humanoid aside from the thick
fur that covers their bodies. The males will have a main and the females will
not. Fur color will vary as they do normal wolves and so will their eyes. Their
span of life is generally between 60 to 80 years of age. Their height is
between 1.57 to 1.60 meters tall and they weigh about 81 to 105 kg.
Personality:
Timbaknis value honor above all things, even
life itself. They are a stern and proud race of being, and they rare joke
around. They are usually very serious about all situations.
Special Talents:
Timbaknis regenerate a aura around themselves,
which projects their level of honor. This aura can only be seen by other
Timbaknis. This aura has a color code. Clear, there is no honor. Light purple
is very low honor; a medium purple color is an average honor level, where dark
purple is high honor. They will have the heighten smell special ability. Plus
Nightvision at a 10 meter range. Claws will do three (3) TSD plus their SD in damage
per strike and their bite will do four (4) TSD plus ½ their SD in damage per
Strike. They will start with the hand to hand striking and damage at skill
level five (5).
Titanians
Appearance:
Titanians are huge humans with bulging muscle
everywhere. They are what is left of human kind from the earth wars century
ago. Their skin color is a dove gray. Their eyes are totally black. They are
totally hairless. Their span of life is generally between 40 to 50 years of
age. Their height is between 2.33 to 2.66 meters tall and they weigh about 177
to 201 kg.
Personality:
Titanians are a crude, rude, hot tempered and
war like race of people.
Special Talents:
Titanians will receive a plus 50% to all
radiation, poison, and toxins saves.
Sub Form Races
This would be but not limited to: Goblins, Orcians, Ogres,
Trolls, Giants, Kobolds, Lizardmen, and more.
