Hit Points & Life Points

Hit/Life point indicates how much physical damage (cuts, bruises, etc.) that a character can withstand before death. These are the points that are observed during a battle (melee) to determine how much physical damage is inflicted on friend or foe. Each time a character is struck by a weapon he or she takes physical damage. The individual player(s) keeps track of how many hit/life points their character has by subtracting the damage from their character’s hit/life points each time the character is hit by a weapon. Likewise the Game Master keeps score of how much damage the player inflicts upon their opponent(s). When a character has reached zero life point, he/she will fall into a coma and will lose one END point per hour. If a character is not healed before he/she reaches more than negative  END points, the character is dead. If the character is raised to at least one positive life point, he/she/it will no longer lose life points...at the Game Master discretion of course. The GM may elect to use Hit points instead. The difference is, life points are the overall total of a character’s life force, where hit points are used for individual body parts, such as the HEAD, NECK, ARMS, CHEST, ABDOMEN, and LEGS. When hit points in an area are reduce to zero, that location is no longer functional. In cases of the head, neck, chest and abdomen, the character is unconscious. If a body part is reduce to more than negative its hit points, then it is severed in half. To determine hit/life points, match the character’s total END on the Endurance attributes chart.
