Background

Beldon Ax came from a family of blacksmiths that has disowned him due to him forsaking the honor of his family. He fell in love with a young Aenwyn whose he became fascinated with due to her honest nature. For the Engamar’s, the most horrible dishonor you can give your family is to love an Aenwyn, who they consider as their mortal enemy. They have treated most of the Aenwyn’s with a cordial enough air of acknowledgment, but it never bordered on being friendly. A few younger Aenwyn’s come to the borders of Udorn Kingdom to buy quality bows and armaments and this is how Beldon’s story took a sudden twist. He caught a young Aenwyn stealing some weapons on his family’s Armament Shop while another Aenwyn tried to trick him. But she was so tearful and sorry when caught that he found it hard to really do anything about her crime. He decided to make her work at his family’s shop. But as the days passed by, he grew more fond of the young Aenwyn. His father became concerned and dismissed the girl a month after. But Beldon became depressed and a little ashamed as well. He knew the history between the Engamar’s and the Aenwyn’s but he just could not help himself. He went out to search for the young Aenwyn and found her at a Nekanian Village. A month later, he received word that his family has disowned him. And after all that he has done, the young Aenwyn still left him for another Aenwyn, which crushed his heart and hardened his resolve. He resorted to taking odd jobs that involve his skills in welding weapons and decided to travel the land of Bethica to make a weapon that would make his family proud of him again.  

Heroes of Bethica - Dapesia

Background

Dapesia came from a very prestigious family of Amozonians in Domarina. She was born from a famous family of Amazonians and the tribute she was born from was a unique one as this tribute volunteered to be a tribute. As an Amazonian Domari, she was expected to perform well in battle and she naturally had the right skills to become a leader of a regiment due to her mother’s history. She was brought up to be a leader. But she also grew up to appreciate the slaves. She grew up surrounded by them and even befriended one such slave. Dapesia loves the slave she befriended and grew up with but knew that there was no way for them to be truly together. However, she knows that she can try to save him from being a tribute by winning in the ceremonial combat. She trained the slave and risked her reputation by doing this. Her mother ignored her eccentric fascination with the slave and considered it a phase. But on the day of the ceremonial fight, the slave that was close to Dapesia suddenly obtained an injury. It was apparent in the way he fought as she watched him get closer to death's door. And as she watched her beloved friend’s head get chopped off, she saw her mother smile and knew instantly that it was her. She confronted her mother and it resulted in a huge fight. She decided to leave Domari then and to be a wanderer. She wanted soothe her heart ache over the passing of her dear friend.

Darkthorn had always been an adventurer at heart and as a kid, he became fascinated with other lands and made it his goal to travel the whole of Bethica. His father was overbearing and always tried to lecture him about the beauty of farming and how he was supposed to be the one to continue their families work. But he had bigger plans in life and never really listened to his father who died heartbroken over his son's decision to leave home and venture to the North of Bethica and see the Emerald Lake and maybe even venture into the Dead Woods. However, Darkthorn soon found himself out of money and without any money, he cannot even venture anywhere. At Samium, a board full of bounty requests caught his attention. He saw how much it costs per head and he became very interested even though he knew that he had to have some combat skills to be able to accomplish it. At first, his skills are quite clumsy but it still worked since he mostly hunts down easy criminals and knows how to trick people well, a skill he learned from his father who sells their crops at a price that is slightly higher than most. As his killing skills developed, he moved on to more of the legendary criminals and became a famous bounty hunter of sorts. Bounty hunting became his main source of income and also his main source of joy. He still remembers his dream of roaming Bethica, but his main source of contentment lies in completing a bounty request.

Background

Kioko was brought up by a group of Nekanian Priestesses. She grew up knowing the words and teachings of Coretha and Nelchael. Her plans for her future mostly involve following a life of devotion for Coretha and Nelchael and maybe even teach Nekanian children the importance of their teachings. However, all of these changed on the night that their church was pillaged by thieves and the church where she lived and grew up in burned to the ground. She was the only survivor. With the teachings of Coretha and Nelchael engraved in her being, she swore to find the men who pillaged her church and avenged the deaths of her sisters. She only remembered one thing about that night, and she knew it was enough. She knew that the pillagers wore a mask that had a very distinct mark on the forehead of a white diamond. With this as her basis, she traveled the lands of Bethica and asked around about the mark that she knew was the key to finding the pillagers. Her search led her to Amersis Desert and into a hideout of a group of thieves that she was very sure was the ones that pillaged her church. She called out to Coretha and Nelchael to bless her on her final mission, which is to kill the thieves that destroyed the very church that she swore to serve. She felt that this was her last conquest and was very willing to die for her cause to kill each and every one of the thieves inside the hideout. But as she bore down on the last enemy, the leader of the thieves, and slain him, she was bewildered to find out that she was alive still. She was so ready to die and yet, she had lived through her last conquest.

Nuvian is quite a nuisance in her village as she has a reputation of being wild and careless. She grew up in Tarathiel and mostly comes and go when she pleases. She inherited her parent's house that was left to her when they died of an unknown ailment. She has a reputation for being unruly and drinks much more than her money can afford. She has a natural flair for magic and this is her advantage, most of all. She learned magic by herself and was even able to take up a few jobs here and there. For a while, she just stayed in the Tarathiel until she heard another wizard talk about a powerful spell hidden in the Rameses Tower about bringing the dead to life. She may not admit it, but her parent's sudden death caused her a lot of unresolved pain. She became interested in getting that spell and that is what she did. Rameses Tower proved to be very dangerous but she was determined and fought off the monsters that inhabit it to get to the top and get the spell. However, the spell proved to be a hoax and did not revive her parents. She became disillusioned and resolved to drown her sorrows with alcohol once again. From time to time, some traveler’s will need a wizard and she would take up the job. But the empty feeling never really left her. She soon grew tired of her own village and ventured into other cities and tried every substance there is just to be able to make the empty feeling inside her go away.

Sierra Puddlifoot had a happy childhood that involved traveling with her parents and a group of thieves that she considers as her extended family. When she was ten years old, the group disbanded and she and her parents decided to settle in Granben Woods. Here she learned how to effectively trap game and sell fur and other items that she can scavenge off the land. This became her way of life. Trapping became her main skill and she mostly forgot her history as a former thief. She became so good at trapping that she was able to venture into Engamar Mountains and find bigger prey. She was able to trap very big game and even once trapped a mountain Wyrm alone. She felt a rush in catching a bigger game and decided to go into the west of Bethica to catch the legendary Phantom Wyrm. A Wyrm that was said to be an undead type that is able to suck the life out of its victims. She knew it was dangerous, she knew this may be the death of her, but the call of the beast and the thought of catching the legendary Phantom Wyrm was so great for her that she disregarded her parents wish for her to not do it. It took her a year to reach her destination, but she finally reached Entrydal, a city that is the nearest to the Haunted Wastelands, where the Phantom Wyrm was said to be last seen. However, her searched led her in circles. There was no sign of the Phantom Wyrm. But she does not give up easy. She then made it her life’s goal to find the Phantom Wyrm and bring its head home.
