Lost Souls
Lost Souls takes place in a modern society, where some time ago an evil cult had opened a gate to hell and released legion, “1000 demons upon the earth”. To the cult's surprise, they were not able to control the one who is many, “legion”, and to the world's dismay, he killed all the cult members, include the one who knew how to send it back. Although he is one demon, he has 1000 evil spirits within him, which enables him to be in many places at once to cause havoc upon the earth. Although god leaves fate in the hands of mankind, and in this case mankind brought this on themselves, He has given mankind a weapon. There will be special people with special gifts to combat this evil. Legion is just too powerful to ban back to hell all at once. So mankind will have to ban each spirit one by one. Since its coming, supernatural events are on the rise. Everything from ghosts, spirits, undead, and the worst, demonic possession. So now, the fate of mankind is in their hands once more. Legion is in a trench, and is not planning on going back to hell from which it came.

It is the future. The not too distance future. The old order has changed. Over the years, national governments had shown their increasing ineffectiveness in dealing with the problems of living on this planet: Poverty, Hunger, Disease, Fear, Hatred, and War. Public support for traditional political institutions eroded until one day there was no support.
But even then, there were people who were waiting to fill the void; people who held great personal power; a power of a more subtle and sweeping nature than the power of even the most tyrannical political leaders. They were the businessmen, the heads of the major corporations, insinuating their way, and more than figureheads by this time, watched in impotent awe as corporations competed with, warred on and gobbled up each other until only a handful of the major corporations remained. Between them, they literally carved up the world. There are three corporate head: The Yakuza, The Shaolin Masters, and The Sicilians. The three made a truce and now rule the world. Yes there are smaller independent corporations, whether they know it or not, they belong to one of the major corporations. The problems that had plagued mankind for eons were seemingly solved. The corporations provided for all the needs of their workers. They asked for only one thing in return: Obedience. Blind, service obedience. And most people were willing to surrender whatever freedom they had and give their corporate masters exactly what they wanted. But not everyone.
Those who wouldn't bend, wouldn't fit, wouldn't tolerate the corporate structure, fell between the cracks; they formed a counterpart to that precision, antiseptic society. Their world has no set rules, no controlled economy, and no officially sanctioned lifestyle. Their world is the underground. The people are poor, and each day is another struggle to survive. But they have some freedoms. And among them are the freedom to hope and the hope for a better tomorrow.

Your travels take you to the town of Corvia. It has rain continually for three days; you are drenched, tired and hungry. You make your way to a dark tavern, called Last Hope. The door opens and you shy away from the brightness of the tavern. Your travels have been dark and hazy...making this the brightest light you've seen in weeks. Once your eyes adjust to the light, you notice all eyes are staring at you. The music stops, conversions stop, the looks you get send chills through your soul. And the blackness of their stares tell you...you're not welcome here. Then a dirty looking female comes up to you; her face reminds you of Cinderella all covered in soot; and like Cinderella, through the dirt, you see the face of a beautiful young girl. Her voice is like a cool breeze on a hot day as she speaks. "Don’t mind them," she says, "come, have a seat here." As you make your way over to a table in the far corner, you feel thier eyes following you; as you take your seat, your young hostess, circles the room with her eyes; and with a stern but reassuring look on her face, says, "What can I get you, MOST welcome travelers?" Her voice seems to calm their suspensions. The music starts; the conversion starts and all seems well in this strange little place called Last Hope Tavern. | |
